Thoroughly enjoyable weekend at the YSP

Don’t know if anyone of you have been yet, but you should really go check out the Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton, Wakefield.

We went on Sunday and it was a fantastic day of walking/exploring the park and taking in the beautiful countryside and the sculptures that reside there,

from works by Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth, to the wonderful Rabbits of Sophie Ryder.

We spent well over 3hrs exploring the place and still only discovered about 1/3 of the sculptures on display, would have stayed longer, but due to other commitments had to be back in Manchester for 4:00pm.

We missed out on the internally housed sculptures as Blue was I’m afraid to say not allowed into any of the buildings that are in the Park, though she was allowed to wander around the outside space with us (though she had to be on a lead for the duration), will hopefully next time manage to get inside next time.

So how much does it cost to visit the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (YSP), well you’ll be pleasantly surprised to discover that they don’t charge for people, they just charge for your car parking, so for a full day all you pay is £7.50 no how many passengers you have in your car, be it 2 people or 4, it’s all the same.
