Blue our Cane Corso’s Referral . .

at NorthWest Vets was yesterday and it now appears the lameness she has is in fact due to cruciate ligament damage again, so after a lengthy discussion with Ben Keeley one of the Orthopedic Surgeons, about Blues condition, we have decided to go ahead with corrective surgery for her, this will involve having the same TPLO (tibial-plateau-leveling osteotomy) Procedure performed on her left hind leg that she had on her right hind leg over 2 yrs ago.

It will then be 6-12 weeks of recuperation before she can start behaving like a dog again i.e. running and enjoying herself.

The cost this time thankfully is about £1000 less, this is in part due to a lot of the ground work necessary for this kind of operation has already taken place when she had the procedure on her other leg, even so it will still cost well over £3500 for the operation/surgery.

We may then have more to add to the cost’s as she may need water therapy to help with building her muscle strength up again, but we won’t know for definite until after the operation.

Will try to keep you all updated on her op and the recovery as it happens.
