Well I’ve now set up a Wireless network and the associated Laptop up at my Chairmans, house so he and his family can access the internet from any location in there house, however during the process of setting up his normal PC onto the Wireless hub I had to install a Network card into the PC, though I shorted out his Mobo and blew the power supply in the process, thats now fixed, so one less problem to worry about . . .  my only concern now is that I’m going to start recieving telephone calls at home again

“How do you mean recieve calls at home again ?”
Well as the Chairman is’nt exactly IT literate I will no doubt now recieve calls everytime he loses his network connection or something goes wrong with the Laptop, now as I dont get paid overtime anymore, any calls I recieve outside of work hours will cost me my private time, where as it will cost him nothing in paying me overtime and as he’s the Chairman I can hardly say “Piss off and call me when I’m at work !” can I. . .

It’s times like this I wonder whether to start looking for another job, somewhere that does’nt expect me to be IT Support for the owners and all their immediate family . . it’s not like I can even raise the issue , I’ve tried twice to do this and on one occasion actually told the MD that I did not wish to support there home PC’s, but was informed in no uncertain terms that I had to/was expected to as the computers where bought through work . . so if I raise the issue all that happens is I’m put in my place so to speak and literally should be grateful for it

So all in all I’m in a shitty situation with no escape, except maybe to complain to a manager and see if anything actually happens . .
