Visted mum in Yorkshire

Its Tuesday and I should tell you what’s happened recently. Well Friday was spent driving to Yorkshire to spend the weekend at my mothers and a friends house in Hull, Friday night went Ok, met up with Dave and Stu in the local pub the Griffin and spent the evening with them until they headed off to Squirrels a sort of pub come club nr Pocklington that caters for pissed/mashed/hammered local folk after the pubs close, I thankfully declined the offer of going, not my cup of tea to be honest, just met Mel from my mums and stayed drinking till closing time. Saturday morning was spent in the company of my mother and her friends at a country fayre type thing at the local community hall, where amongst others things I won a Teddy Bear, some lotions and some volavon trays on the tombola .. . . how exciting you scream, yes we screamed to, probably not for the same reasons though. Well after the excitement of the morning we took my mum to Beverley, where we wondered around the shops helping her get some bargains, Ive noticed mums are awfully good at spotting bargains, unlike there offspring. Now after this we should have really headed through to Paul and Marnis but Mel wasnt feeling to well, I blame it on the lager or the veggie pasty/burger things she ate earlier, so she stayed with my mum for the evening, I managed to sneak away for a while for a drink with Duggy (old school friend), he was only allowed out for an hr, but to hell with he thought and decided last orders would be the time he went home and not before. Sunday came and Mel was still feeling a little down so we decided to drop the PC id promised Paul off and head home so Mel could curl up in our own warm bed and that was how our weekend went.
Did enjoy visiting Mkt Weighton and getting slightly sloshed with my old friends, though regret not getting to Hull for the usual madness of Paul and Marnis, plus would have been nice to meet the other Mels Basset.. . . . . maybe next time.
We also acquired an early Christmas present from my mother . . its on of those garden heater thing’s that have a gas bottle in them, they look like an umbrella sort of, but instead of the top being material and having sort of metal sprockets, it has lighted gas billowing out to keep you warm.
