Well I’ve just spent an informative morning at a Speed Awareness Course in Carrington, learning how to be a better driver with regards speed and hazards.

I was caught by a camera a number of weeks ago, which would have resulted in a fine and 3 points on my licence, but fortunatly was given the option of going on the course, something which I thought was a good idea as nobody wants points if they can help it, plus it would also be a refresher on safe driving which indeed it was, it was a well presented morning of learning how to drive safely and how to be aware of the road around you, learnt a few things I did’nt know and was reminded of some driving knowledge I’d forgotten.

If you get given the oppurtunity to go on one of these course’s I recommend taking it, its full of ordinary people like you and me who are in effect being given a chance to improve there driving skills and hopefully imparting them on others, which I’ll try to do, its actually made me have a look at the highway code again something Iv’e not done in a long long time.

Its also made me think more about whats around me when it comes to driving, something which is good for me and those around me.
