Akismet has protected your site from 1,499 spam comments since I first installed it onto my blog, thats a hell of alot of spam to have to delete out of the comments section in WordPress Admin, but it has to be done, well actually it does’nt anymore, well ok some of it does, but hopefully not all of it . .  how you ask, well after googling spam and wordpress I’ve come across a nice little plugin called “Bannage” now what this little plugin does is allow you to block/ban ip address’s from your blog and seeing as I’ve noticed alot of the spam originating from the same ip address’s this plugin will allow me to ban them, so hopefully over time I can rid myself of the particular nasty repeat offender’s . .  so ok I’ll still get some spam ccomments, but hopefully I won’t get as much as I did.

So if you want to reduce the spam you have to delete get hold of Bannage here 

By the way should also point out Bannage also allows you to ban email address’s and url from being posted on your blog. . . .  so heres to a spam free future
