So I’ve upgraded my phone

Yeah the time has come in my contract where I can finally upgrade my phone . .  so which did I go for ?

Well I bit the bullet and went for the iphone and boy was it a tasty bullet, never have I been so impressed with a phone before, to be honest I’m hardly using it as a phone, more sort of as a mobile computing platform, theres so many different apps you can get for it that make day to day living just that little bit more exciting.

App’s I’ve loaded so far

Photoswap

Here’s the blurb from there website

“Looking at something worth taking a picture of ? Use PhotoSwap and send your picture immediately to another randomly-selected PhotoSwap user. In exchange you’ll get his.

You can reply to each picture you receive with … another picture of course! And engage in a real photo-based conversation.

Each picture taken has one and only one recipient. Be surprised by a unique glimpse into someone else’s life !”

I’ve been playing with this app now for about 2-3 days and had some wonderfully random pictures sent to me and i’ve hopefully sent some just as random ones out, theres even a flickr group dedicated to Photoswap users and the pictures they send and recieve, check it out here, infact better still click on the link below and start sending and recieving them yourself 🙂

Polarize

Remember in the 70’s when your parents bought a Polariod instamatic camera and how everytime it was a birthday or christmas they’d get it out and there’d be everyone taking pictures and waving pieces of paper about until a picture appeared, well thanks to a rather clever guy called Christopher Comair, he’s developed an applicationf or the iphone that lets yout turn and take picture with your iphone into handy little Polaroid looking pictures, it even comes with the functionality  to write at the bottom of your photos with a custom hand written font, making look like you’ve just got the felt-tip marker pen out.

Again had loads of fun with this app and been taking a few polaroids myself :

As you can see they look pretty cool indeed, it gives me a hankering for the 70’s alll over again :), again this app has it’s own flickr gorup that you can find here and post your efforts to.

So what are you waiting for download the app and starting pretending its the 70’s again
