Today was a sad day due to the news that John Peel passed away from a heart attack, I met John this year for the first time at The Big Chill event at Eastnor, can honestly say I have not met a finer man than Mr Peel and my endearing memory of that meeting was watching him walk into the evening sunset in his baggy shorts and red t-shirt holding his wife Sheilas hand, John Peel RIP
Also discovered today that an old mate (well I call him mate, but abit unsure now) from Market Weighton is getting married soon, he lives in Ledbury with his partner Leoni, seems he’s sent invites out, but it would appear I have’nt got one. Remind me to be sure to invite Phil Burton to my wedding one day, just to show theres no hard feelings. Anyway Phil I hope the wedding is a fantastic day and you get either the honeymoon or the garden sculpture that you pine for . . would have been nice to have met your “new mates”, I’m sure I would have got on with them. My mum sends her regards and wishes you both happiness in the future.
Thats about it for today, so all in all its been a sad one.
I’m not bothered about not being invited Phil, but I am saddened by John’s untimely death as he was not only a cultural icon, but a really really nice guy.
