Well got home tonight to find a PCN (Penalty Charge Notice) from Lambeth Council informing me that I illegally parked my car in Crown Dale Road on the 3rd March 2007, now the strange thing is I’ve not been to London in about 3yrs let alone parked my car in Crown Dale Road.

Anyway after speaking to the nice lady called Sue at Lambeth Council and informing them that my car was in Manchester on the 3rd of March 2007, she suggested I contacted the Parking Ticket Dept by letter to inform them of this and also at the same time to contact the local Police to let them know as she suspects my car may have been cloned, probably to avoid the Congestion fee in London.

After speaking to the Police they gave me a Log no to quote to the Parking Dept in my letter and to expect a visit from the Police re: to check to see if my car is really my car . . . HOLD THE PRESS “the Police have just rung me and told me they ain’t gonna do nothing as this occurs quite regularly and all they can do is give me a reference number that I should provide to Lambeth Council which will inform them that I’ve informed the Police that I believe my car has been cloned”

So it would appear the ball is now in my court and I’ll send my letter off tomorrow and wait the approx 14 days to hear back from Lambeth . . . wonder if I’ll get any further tickets in the meantime
