All I can say is I’m glad I waited and bought the DJI Phantom 3 Advanced with the combined camera, the price may have been a little steeper than the Phantom 2, but I then did’nt have to buy a separate Gimbal for the GoPro camera’s I have, the camera that is included with the Phantom 3 is just as good as the GoPro and the Gimbal has a built in remote, which allows me to pan the camera on the vertical plain 🙂

So after spending the first Saturday of the holiday setting the DJI Phantom up and having the odd test flight see below ;

After learning the basics of the controls fairly quickly I then took it with me to Tenby and decided to have a closer look at St Catherine’s Island, just off of Tenby’s beach :

After this there was no stopping me, did a quick test flight over Bosherton to see the Lilly Lakes:

and the village and then took it along to Saundersfoot for a fly along the beach and over the marina:

Hopefully as I become more practised with the Phantom and aerial photograph,  becoming more aware of its capabilities I will hopefully be filming and producing some spectacular views of Manchester and anywhere else I might take and fly it.

It is a total learning experience indeed, but a fun one at that.
