Mmmmmm Gammon Steak . .

Just got back from Mel’s birthday meal and boy was I hungry, we decided to visit a local pub in Urmston called Chadwick’s, the place has been open about a year maybe more now and we’ve not had chance to sample there main course’s, though I have had the pleassure of one of there Burger’s, which was rather tasty indeed and definately hit the right spot, anyway tonight was not a burger night . . after surveying the menu I opted for the 10 oz gammon steak with 2 eggs and curly fries, Mel went for the Tuna steak, while we waited for these delights to arrive I discovered that not only did Chadwicks do a rather nice food menu, they also did a rather nice beer menu which included Hoegarden, so with no further ado I ordered a pint and settled down for the soon to arrive food.

Well we did’nt have to wait to long . . within about 20 mins our food wass brought out to us and the presentation alone got my mouth watering (this is sort of becoming like a food critics description ), so by the time the barstaff had brought the food to me I was ready to tuck in and boy did I tuck in.

The thing about Gammon steak is you forget how nice it is and then you bite into it and your mouth just starts to water mmmmmmm . . I can tell you pretty soon I was moping up the remains of the obligatory mustard that must always acompany gammon with the last few remaining curly fries and wishing I could eat the whole thing again, Mel was much the same with her Tuna steak, there was’nt a morsel left on her plate apart from the single lettuce leaf sat there wondering where all its fellow leafs had gone.

If you’ve not been to Chadwicks yet, I can highly recommend it for the food and the Beer, I’ve not been on a busy day, so can’t really say what its like on a Saturday night, but for a Tuesday evening it was’nt to packed and made a pleasant change from our usual Polar Bar jaunts.

So with the meal devoured and both of us feeling extremely full we headed home and now here I am telling you all about it :
