my £156 they took out of my Bank Account for being £25 over my overdraft limit as it appears that a direct debit for £26 to MBNA should have been cancelled when I did a balance transfer on a number of store cards I had in March this year, if this is the case and I have been paying MBNA £26 that I shouldn’t have been, this would in theory have left me with about £175 in my account or an extra £26 a month, thus I would have had enough to cover the £25 that took me over my limit.
So in theory I wouldn’t have been overdrawn and the bank wouldn’t have been able to charge me £156, I’m now in the process of trying to contact MBNA to find what the direct debit is for and if I have indeed already paid if off in March I’ll then be contacting my local branch of LLoydsTSB to demand my £156 back and ask them why this direct debit wasn’t cancelled as they had assured me it would, I’ll also be expecting a refund from MBNA to the sum of £175+, which should go a little way to sorting out my finances for this month.
