He’s Mad I’m sure of it

If you read my blog regularly you’ll have noticed a post a couple of weeks ago where I mentioned how our MD requested that all the phones in the office have the same volume i.e. quiet (so as not to disturb anyone else in the office), well today he’s decided to target the Key Card readers in the building which just so happen to Beep when you hold your Key Card up to them, he’s noticed that some are louder than others and some have different tones to other’s and he ideally like them all to be at the same volume/tone or alternativly have the sound switched off on all of them.

Well I rang the engineer who deals with these Key Card readers and told him our MD’s request, well once he’d stopped laughing he asked me if I was being serious, to which I explained that the MD’s request was indeed serious, so again I had to wait for him to stop laughing to say that beleive me he was indeed being serious…. well after a few minutes of thinking and discussing it with his colleagues (the sound of laughter could be heard coming from the phone), he said that he was afraid that the request to have the tones all the same pitch and volume was not possible, however he could indeed silence all the Key Card readers, though this would involve taking the cover off  of each idividual Reader and by taking a very technical tool know as a screwdriver and ramming it into the Readers built in speaker, this would render them silent . .

So now I’ve told the MD and am awaiting his decision on the matter, though he’s still adamant that thee should be/must be a way to change the tone/volume of the readers . .

It’s days like this I wonder who I work for and what clinic did he escape from, oh and just to let you know, we’re all still sat here at work waiting for his permission to go home (apparently we’ve been told on the office grapevine that today is just like any other working day and we will be leaving at 5pm or 5.30pm in my case)

Bah fcuking Humbug !
