Football Traffic Jams

You know what the worst thing about living in Manchester is ?

Football Traffic Jams on Chester Road when your trying to get home from work !

I live less then 3 miles from my workplace, but guess where I work ? Yep on Chester Road, so what normally takes me 15-20 mins on a normal day, takes me about 45-60mins on a match day, they should do what they do in York and have a bloody big carpark outside Manchester with buse’s or trams that run at regular intervals between the Carpark and Old Trafford, thus all drivers going to the match can park there and then get a tram/bus to the match, this would prevent the bumper to bumper traffic that appears when theres a match.

  1. Even better solution Ban Football altogether. It would be no loss. Only thing those mamby pamby Dave Beckhams of the world would have to get a real job with real wages and not the disgusting amounts that they are currently paid!!!!! They would not last a day in the real world of work…….

  2. Ban cars from city centres: I don’t mean residents cars but shoppers, visitors, interlopers etc.

I know the congestion charge is a backdoor tax on scamming motorists, but it does seem to have an effect.

I dunno, maybe the whole planet is doomed.

Agree with Glynis about the outragousness of footballers wages though, especially as so many football clubs can’t sustain them and are in financial difficulty.

  3. I to agree with Glynis, which to be honest is something are indeed, footballers get way to much money, maybe they should invest that money in traffic calming measures around the grounds and leading up to them, all those sleeping policemen would certainly deter most drivers from approaching the grounds.

Anyway Andy nice to see your reading the blog, hows life as a southerner then ?

  4. Finally found a bit of time to surf. Glynis told me about the site so thought I would see what you are doing now.

Life is busy, bitten off too much work with photography and design full time and part time jobs don’t mix with family life!!

    will drop by again soon

    look after yourself

    Andy

  5. Sorry to hear Alan Ball has passed away. You won’t remember him Vince as that was the year you were born when England won the World Cup back in 1966. Now that was when Football was football and the players earned their money.
    Unlike now mamby pamby’s!!
