So there I am heading out of the building to have my lunchtime ciggy and as I’m walking down the stairs I can hear a beeping, track it down to the Fire Alarm Panel and relaise that the Alarms gone into Pre-alarm stage, turns out the 2 builders replacing the reception floor have been using a power saw to cut some hardboard and the dust has caused the Smoke sensor to go into pre-alarm its seen the dust as smoke and a false-postive has occured, if i’d not spotted it in time we’d have all been evacuating the building and stood out in the cold.

To make matters worse if it had gone off, We’d have lost our Fire Brigade cover as we’ve already had 2 false-positives this year and if we’d had a 3rd that would have meant they’d have taken away our cover for up to 12 months, but will anyone thank me ?  probably not !
