Well not so much Beam me up, but maybe more Beam me out of here . .

So any of you lot fancy earning £41,000 for 17 months worth of boredom in Moscow, well if you do the European Space Agency is looking for volunteers to spend 17 months in an isolation tank that will simulate a space flight to Mars.

The experiment is to see how individuals would cope with being enclosed in a sealed environment for the 520 days it would be expected to travel to Mars and back and spend at least 30 days completing experiments on the Mars surface.

The only contact with the outside world would be via a delayed radio link (again to simulate the actual communications delay expected on such a journey), hey it may be boring but think about it, your getting paid £41,000, your getting your board and lodgings for free and you get to pretend your a spaceman, seems like a good job to me, just pretend your in the Big Brother house or something, you never know you might even fall for a space colleague and be the first astronaut to carry out nuptials on a mission 🙂
