White Van man comes a cropper

White Van pulls into BMW
Originally uploaded by BagRat

Just seen an accident outside my workplace, a White Van pulling across from the 3rd lane into the first lane obviously wasn’t looking in his mirrors, otherwise he might have seen the female BMW driver, but he didn’t so he ended up smacking into the side/rear of her Beamer and causing a bit of a smash, anyway here’s some photo’s I managed to take out of the window.

Police have now turned up as the road was starting to get a bit congested and guess they were worried another accident might happen.

  1. The WVM may have looked at his mirrors very carefully and still not have seen the BMW if it was driving in one of his vans many blind spots. In my opinion the most dangerous blind spot from the driving seat of a white van is that of the road below and out of range of the passenger side rear view mirror. Whilst driving in the blind spot of a large vehicle that starts to pull into your path I think the best action you can take is to beep your horn in the hope of getting the drivers attention before it is too late. Good Luck!

  2. Thinking this one did’nt as we we’re looking out of the window as he was pulling across, think he just judged the timing wrong, looked like he was intending to turn into the road opposite where he hit her, but I see your point, I even get blind spots in my car on occasion, but thankfully I have a very loud warning system to let me know whats coming, it sits in my passenger seat and goes by the name of girlfriend

  3. Sorry to say they are’nt very cheap and there definately high maintance, but if you treat them well they can last you years before you even consider a trade in 🙂
