Now if I was to say to you that I had a really really tasty Chocolate Fudge Sunday, knowing full well it was your favourite desert, and then proceeded to sticksaid Chocolate Fudge Sunday in front of you with the Chocolate Fudge missing, it would’nt be the same would it, so what makes you think I’m actually going to enjoy a Jam Reunion without Paul Weller in the line up . .
Come on Bruce and Rick you seriously can’t be that desperate for cash to have a reunion and think that not having Paul involved will make you much cash . . no offence to your musical talents, but Paul was a pretty fairly large lynch-pin in the group and without him it just aint gonna be a reunion is it, let alone a reforming of the band.
It even seems that the Modfather Paul Weller is unaware of the reunion, it’ll be interesting to see how the 20 Venue tour will go with Mr Weller as part of the line-up . .
Liverpool sold out it’s pre-sales tickets in less than 2 hours.
They will have NO trouble filling Venues.
Any real Jam fans knows that Rick & Bruce were an important part of The Jam – they have a great frontman in their new line up – if anyone has seen Weller recently and heard him do Jam tracks they will realise he’s not cut out to join Rick and Bruce anyway – he hasn’t got the voice for it.
I’ve seen this new line up at the last three when Bruce joined Ricks band The Gift and I’m a hardened Jam fan and I was blown away.
People should actually check out bands live before they start making assumptions
GOOD LUCK to Rick and Bruce – Weller shit on them in 1982 – they deserve to be back in the limelight, the fans want it so who cares what journalists and bloggers think!!
Hi Moonie and thxs for dropping by to add a comment, was beginning to think no one read my Blog.
Anyway onto the matter in hand, as a Jam fan myself I totally agree with you that Rick and Bruce were integral parts of the original Jam, but without Weller up front singing it just won’t seem the same to me,I’ve seen The Gift myself many years ago in Hull I think it was and yeah they were good, I’ve never made any assumptions about The Gift, I’m just making the general assumption The Jam won’t be The Jam I loved and knew in my teenage years, and I’ve not said I won’t go see them, but I don’t expect anything of any band until after I’ve seen them, otherwise my high hopes might be dashed.
Not seen the new frontman myself or heard him so cant comment on whether he’s good or not, but I’ll take your word for that until I do.
As for shitting on Rick and Bruce I can’t agree with you more, Weller did indeed shit on them from a great height and neither of them deserved that from a supposed mate, maybe he might make ammends one day who know’s, but in the meantime if there playing Manchester I’ll go see them and find out if they blow me away as much as they did you and let you know on here.
Well I saw the The Jam many times and was an avid fan of theirs. So to me if The Jam are reforming then it has to include PAUL WELLER otherwise it is not The JAM. It’s like having peanut butter sarnies but with no peanut butter!!!! Yes Rick & Bruce are good at what they do but sureley they could call themselves JAM 2
