Have’nt really talked much

About our pet rats on here, but we’ve had 7 in total over the years and they’ve all been little stars in there own right . . sadly our last rat died this evening, her name was Ruby and she’s now gone to join all her rattie friends before her, she’s probably the oldest rat we’ve had out of the 7, she’ll be missed by a few people who visited our home.

We saw the end coming on over the past few week’s and knew fairly soon she’d succumb to old age, but she’s had a fair inning’s, she’d survived cancer and had a tumour removed in January of this year, which considering her age at that time was a fairly tough thing to overcome, but I think that might have taken it out of her a bit and maybe if she had’nt had the cancer she might have had a bit more strength in her to last a little bit longer.

Ruby will be sadly missed, a piece of our family gone, I only wish I’d talked about her on here a bit more and told you of her many adventures under the sofa and behind the TV, the amount of speaker cables I’ve had to replace cause some mischievous little rodent fancied nibbling them :), you’ll be missed Ruby 🙁

  1. Sorry to hear about Ruby 🙁 We’ve had pet rats and they really do have individual personalities My fave, Ratty (the kids didn’t have very good imaginations!!) would hitch a ride on your foot as you walked around the kitchen! Usually taking a pee on my ex-husband’s foot…they really are good judges of character too!!

  2. I’d like to get another rattie, but don’t think Mel can take another rat dying, she gets to upset, so I’m guessing we’ll be getting a dog next . .
