A weekend at my mothers

As the title states I spent the past weekend visiting my mother in the lovely hamlet of Market Weighton, where nothing ever changes, well that was the case until this weekend when Tesco opened its doors to the residents.

Yep Tesco has arrived to drive out the small business’s that strive to survive in Market Weighton and looking at the stock that Tesco’s is carrying I can probably state that at least 1-2 small local shop’s will find it very hard to compete and will most likely end up closing pretty soon, pretty sad state of affairs when the local council decide to let some one like Tesco’s open and the result is local business’s being effected to the extent that they have to close or face the possibility of bankruptcy.

Why cant the likes of Tesco and ASDA stick to the usual products like other super markets and leave TV’s Kettles, gardening implements, clothes and god knows what else to the shops that have traditionally sold them for years, thus allowing them to survive as well, but I suppose that’s not business sense is it, there idea is to drive all the local business’s to the brink and slowly but surely take away those customers who were once loyal to the little shop and make them there own, pretty soon all the choice we’ll have left when it comes to going shopping is Tesco and ASDA and who wants to spend there day’s walking round the endless lifeless aisles of these shops, where no one know’s you by name or ask’s how the kids are doing or how were your holidays . . . . so much for fair trade and free enterprise . .

  1. And their Customer Service is Crap!

    TESCO’S

Went to TESCO’S last night. Bought a few bits and bobs and also bought a CD for the boyfriend Kylie Minogue. Anyway got to to the b/f’s house and gave it to him. Oh! I’ve already got it he says. No probs I said will take it back in the mnorning.

Well went to TESCO’S this morning to return it. Explained to the young assistant on the Customer Service Desk that b/f has already got the CD and could I exchange it or have a refund.

She said NO as I had BROKEN THE SEAL. What seal I said as I have not even opened the CD! I said the CD did not have a seal/wrapper. She did not believe me.

She then said that she could not take it back due to COPYRIGHT LAWS!! I said what has copyright laws got to do with it. Bascially she did not want to know and accused me of breaking a NON EXISTENT SEAL!!!

To which I replied so all I can do with the CD is put it in the BIN and I will not be shopping @ TESCO’S ever again.

I do not like being accused as a LIAR when I am not one……..
