Since my nephew came to stay . .  and he seems to be settling into Manchester, so far we’ve taken him to Dunham Massey Park to check out the deer, been for a bike ride by Chorlton Water Park, sampled the culinary delights of Jacksons Boat and the delights of Stretfords only decent pub the Robin Hood (though to be honest I’ve seen better pubs).

While he’s staying with us I’ve given him the load of my mountain bike, so he can at least have a ride around the neighborhood and sort of get his bearings, we’re hoping that the 5 weeks he spends here will help him change his life for the better, show him theres more to life then small town narrow mindedness, maybe even persuade him that it might be an idea to leave Market Weighton and move across here and start afresh like I did 9 years ago, it did me the world of good and it also allowed me the opportunity to be who I wanted to be and not what others expected me to be.   Thats the problem with living in a small town everyone expects so much of you and when you let them down they never let you forget, lets hope they let him forget and move on with his life before he to becomes a victim.
