So I found this wonderful collection of photographs, by Traer Scott Photography.
Shelter Dogs
The photos are from a shelter that Traer has been volunteering at for the past 10 years, these are a selection of the dogs that as a photographer she was asked to take for the shelters adoption sites, its wonderful piece of photography with a tinge of sadness, as not all these dogs found their forever homes and sadly were euthanized in order to make room for the many new dogs coming in.
The photo’s are all very beautiful, but also haunting as you don’t know which dogs survived and which unfortunately didn’t.
The photo’s were released as a hardcover book called Shelter Dogs in 2006 and again in 2009, I’m actually in the process of trying to get a copy as we too have a rescue dog and think of it as a memoriam to all those dogs lost.
