Just a quick post to heap praise on a rather nice village pub we went to last weekend.

If by any chance your ever near Macclesfield and fancy a nice country walk followed by a very tasty lunch, check out the “Ship Inn” at Wincle, well worth a visit.

Its open every day except Monday and the Battered Fish and Chips was delicious, Mel went for the Trout, which again was very very delicious.

Quite a nice little pub, nice garden outside so you can enjoy your food and a beer in the sun.

Plenty of nice walks around Wincle that will help you build up an appetite, we took the one just the other side of the bridge opposite Wincle’s micro brewery, the walk takes you along the river for a few hundred yards and then takes you up and down through a small wood/copse and then onto the hills above, walked about 2-3 miles and then turned around as unsure where it would lead us, next time we shall bring a map.
