Rescued a Canadian Goose . .

just one of the many things an Systems Administrator might be called to do in his busy hectic day . .

This morning one of the female Distribution Staff rang me to tell me there was a Canadian Goose wandering round our delivery yard covered in oil and could I do anything about it  ?

Seems since I previously rescued the pet rabbit, injured pigeon, injured swan, lost kitten and young squabs that fell from their nest, I am the man that everyone calls when they find an injured/lost animal/bird at work, anyway long story short, cornered and caught said Canadian Goose, it’s covered in lots and lots of oil, it’s now placed inside a very big cardboard pallet box and is awaiting the arrival of the RSPCA, who hopefully will be able to help the little guy/girl.

I’ve also given Peel Holdings a call, as they apparently own the Bridge-water Canal which backs onto my workplace (only place the goose could have come from) and informed them that I believe there may be a rather large oil slick on the canal, as this is the only way the goose could have been that thoroughly covered with oil,  they’ve said they’ll send someone out to check and hopefully they’ll clean it up.

In the meantime I’ve now got what was a nice new shirt covered in what looks like motor oil, here’s hoping it comes out in the wash 🙂
