Mmmmm exciting night round Stretford !

Well the plan was to go to the new bar/club in Stretford last night The Green Windmill, however due to the fact they were charging £8 a pop to get in and beer would no doubt be along the lines of £3 a pint the group I was out with decided against it and we sadly ended up at O’Briens, now O’Briens must be the only pub in Stretford that has a Care in the Community door policy, either that or the clientele in Stretford are all inbred, my word’s may seem a little harsh, but you were no the one who had to sit there last night looking a the locals of this little pub.
There was for instance the guy in his 60’s who was obviously pissed out of his head jostling around the pub showing off his suntanned wrinkled skinned belly, he was closely followed by the small blonde in her 50’s trying to grab every young guys arse while trying to shake her booty, but the one that did it for me was the young (i say young, but i could be wrong) woman who walked in with a guy who could of been her father , that’s not bad in itself, but she was wearing the most obnoxious pair of stockings matched with a skirt that didn’t leave a lot to the imagination, now this could have been a good thing under different circumstance, but when this outfit is combined with some one who’s legs resemble an anorexics its not a pretty sight believe me.

In the total of 12 yrs that I’ve lived in Manchester I’ve only ventured in O’Briens 3 times and last night reminded me why.

So that was last nights fun and frolics, an evening of Victorian freak-show

  1. hello , I am the co-owner of The Green Windmill in Stretford. The band we had playing on Saturday normally play at The Academy in Manchester and charge £15.00 for tickets. As we have only been open a week The Jamm kindly reduced their ticket prices for our venue. They played a full hour and a half set and the place was rockin!!! Its a shame you didnt venture in as Im sure you would have thoroughly enjoyed yourself.

The Green Windmill has a bar downstairs open 7 days till 11pm. Upstairs in The Windmill we have live music and dj Thurs, Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

Entry is free before 10.30pm and £3.00 after unless a special event is taking place like last saturday.

We have created a live music venue with a great selection of drinks, nice people and a great atmosphere, I hope you will venture back to Stretford in the near future and enjoy yourself in our bar.

  2. Don’t worry I’ll venture back, main reason we did’nt go in was cause 1/2 the crowd were pretty broke, w’d been lead to beleive it would be the same price as the weekend before when our mates went, we later found out they actually went Friday instead, so they’d got the date and the price wrong.

Anyway good luck with the venture, Stretford needs a decent bar/venue and no doubt you’ll find more post from me on the Greenwindmill and hopefully they’ll be more enthusiastic
