Chorlton’s Beech Road Festival . .

was just another victim of what is turning out to be a very wet summer, though this did’nt stop people enjoying themselves.

We actually forgot it was on and only realised when we drove past Chorlton Green on the way to taking Blue for her Sunday walk and saw all the stalls and people wondering around, so we ended up putting Blues walk off for a couple of hours, parking up and wondering round the myriad of stalls, seeing what there was on offer.

Beech Road’s festival apparently harks back to village days of old, when shops put out their stalls selling ice cream, cream teas and other treats, to add to these stalls and the general party feel the road is lined with bunting and games such as tug-o-war are played out on the green between local pubs.

The park nearby on Beech Road is host to a mini music festival with local talent playing for the crowds, plus children’s rides and plenty of fairground attractions for all the family.

Here’s a few clips of the day that I’ve stuck up on YouTube

As I say the weather was fairly damp for the day, but this did’nt seem to dampen the spirits of those attending and from what we experienced of the day it’s definitely something worth checking out next year if you’ve not been before.
