59 Days and going strong . .

Hard to believe it’s now been nearly 2 months since I gave up cigarettes.

So what things have I noticed since quitting.

  1. More money in my bank at the end of the month (I’ve saved about £711 on cigarettes since quitting)
  2. No more morning routine of coughing and retching for about 5-10mins.
  3. No a thin coating of ash spread across my computer desk like early winter snow.
  4. Walking into the house or getting in the car and it smelling like an overflowing ashtray.
  5. Not standing outside the bar/pub/restaurant in the cold every 20 minutes so I can have a cigarette.
  6. Food tastes like food
  7. Clothes no longer smell of smoke

There just the benefits I can think of at the moment, but undoubtedly there are many health benefits to quitting that will benefit me in the long run, so even more reason to keep up with the #quitsmoking.

Champix has helped a lot with this, don’t think I could have got this far without it and thankfully no real extreme side-effects experienced, just the vivid dreams, which in turn have resulted in periods where I’ve not had a good night’s sleep and a few occasions where I’ve had problems being able to concentrate on anything, though these occasions have been few and far behind and probably are a result of the dreams and the sleepless nights.

I’ve got about another 2 weeks on the Champix and then it’s down to me to keep from starting smoking again, think I’m up to the challenge this time.
